Modelling
We were asked to model our characters using 'green stuff' which is kind of like play-do and blu tac, but firstly before we even attempted to make our characters, we were asked to make a bag, and a face, to get us started and give us some experienced of using the putty. after we made the two items, we started making our character, we made a wire frame of how the stance of our character would look, using references from our sketchbooks, so we didn't mess up. and then after the wire-frame was complete, we added the putty to it.
I added a basic mould to start with, without any detail, as i wanted to get the body shape correct before everything else. once I was happy, I added more detail, and slowly it turned out to look somewhat like my character that I wanted it to look like. I am pleased with it, but I still think i could have done better, but because it was my first proper try, in glad the way it came out.
These are my stages of modelling.
This is the wireframe, which i carefully made, to mak esure that it resembled my character, as i didnt want the head to be to big or small, or the legs to be too long or short
I then put it in the cork, so its able to stand up, I dug little holes inside, so that it has balance. ( I made the legs a bit longer because I knew that some of the height would be lost, when i put it inside the cork
I added a basic body shape, using the green putty, just so I had a idea how to work with this and what to do to make it better
I added a bit more putty, for the arms and legs, and i also built out the body a bit, to make it more female and look more 3D instead of just being flat.
I started adding in more detail here, like armour and boots, as I was giving her the clothes that I wanted my character to wear.
Here you can see that all the armour is actually on, I just need to add detail to it, as its got no texture or patterns at the moment.
This is my final piece, finished, I added in a weapon and a head. ( I think the head could still use a bit more improvement though. ) but apart from that I am happy with the results as it looks how my character should look. All that needs doing now, is for me to paint it.
